A cosy idle inn that grows floor by floor up the side of your desktop. Your guests furnish their rooms from the storeroom you stock, set off on quests and come home with loot and tall tales.

What it is
Tall Tales Inn is a cosy idle game about an inn that grows up the side of your desktop. It sits in a slim strip at the edge of your screen while you work or play something else. It comes to Steam for Windows and Linux on 8 January 2027.
How it plays
You stock the storeroom, and each guest furnishes their own room from it. Rooms that suit their guests earn more rent and tips. You send guests on quests from the board. They come home with coin, loot and a tale for the guest book. Coin pays for stock, new floors and staff. Better rooms draw rarer guests. Once an inn is finished, the innkeeper moves on to a new city.

- Pay builders for a new floor, or build it by hand for materials alone.
- Hire a kitchen hand, a housekeeper, a bard and a storekeeper.
- Dig a cellar for the lodgers your guest rooms turn away, such as slimes, zombies and goblins.
Questions
Which platforms?
Windows and Linux, on Steam. On Linux it needs an X11 session. There is no macOS version at launch.
Is it single-player?
Yes. There is no multiplayer.
Can I use mods?
Yes. Mods from the Steam Workshop can add furniture, guests, staff and whole cities, or change the inn's rules.
Which languages?
English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Turkish.
