What it is

Alchemill: A Witch's Workshop is a cosy falling-sand brewing game. Every grain and drop in the cauldron is simulated. What you pour in melts, boils, burns and sets. You play Ottilie, a farmhand the village takes for its new witch. It comes to Steam for Windows and Linux on 16 April 2027.

How it plays

Each day, villagers bring commissions in their own words, with no list of ingredients. You work out the recipe at the cauldron. Pour phials by hand, stir with a paddle and tend the fire, then bottle the brew and hand it over for silver. Mornings are for gathering in the garden, the river and the woods. A familiar can fetch from farther away. The silver and the villagers' help mend a ruined house, room by room.
